Welcome to TaskCalendars! This guide will help you get up and running quickly.

What is TaskCalendars?

TaskCalendars is a powerful task management and scheduling platform designed for teams. It helps you:

  • Organize tasks with calendars, tags, and categories
  • Schedule recurring tasks with flexible date patterns
  • Collaborate with team members through roles and permissions
  • Track progress with visual dashboards and status updates

Quick Start

1. Create Your First Calendar

Calendars are containers for your tasks. To create one:

  1. Click Calendars in the sidebar
  2. Click the New Calendar button
  3. Give your calendar a name and optional description
  4. Set visibility and permissions

2. Add a Task

Once you have a calendar:

  1. Click the New Task button in the sidebar
  2. Enter a task name and description
  3. Select the calendar to add it to
  4. Set the due date and recurrence pattern (if needed)
  5. Assign team members

3. Explore the Views

TaskCalendars offers multiple ways to view your tasks:

  • Dashboard - Overview of upcoming and overdue tasks
  • Calendar - Visual monthly/weekly/daily view
  • Kanban Board - Drag-and-drop task management
  • Task List - Detailed table view with filtering

Key Concepts

Tasks

Tasks are the core unit of work in TaskCalendars. Each task has:

  • A name and description
  • A due date (with optional recurrence)
  • Assigned members
  • Status (Not Started, In Progress, Completed, etc.)
  • Tags for organization

Calendars

Calendars group related tasks together. You might have separate calendars for:

  • Different projects
  • Different departments
  • Different clients

Team Members

Invite team members to collaborate on tasks. Each member can have different roles:

  • Admin - Full control over tasks and settings
  • Preparer - Can create and edit tasks
  • Approver - Can approve completed tasks
  • Viewer - Read-only access
